Dear Students,

We are pleased to share an important update about the next stage of Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ’s development.

Starting September 8, 2026 (Fall term), Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ will centralize its core academic program operations at our Vancouver campus, located at 570 Dunsmuir Street in downtown Vancouver. This is a strategic move designed to bring students, faculty, staff, services, laboratories, and innovation activities together in one modern academic hub.

The Vancouver campus is designed for modern educational activities, with classrooms equipped with new AV and learning technology, state of the art chemistry and biology labs, student study spaces, library resources, and facilities designed to support collaboration, applied learning, and academic success.

The Vancouver campus will serve as Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ’s academic and innovation hub. It is also home to the Alexander Innovation Centre (AIC), which connects academic learning with applied research, technology, entrepreneurship, and real-world opportunities.

As Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ continues to move in the direction of artificial intelligence and digital innovation, the Vancouver campus will support this future through new technology-enabled classrooms and the development of a downtown data centre planned for Summer 2026.

We are also pleased to share recent academic milestones. Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ has received government approval for a new Bachelor of Business Administration in E-Business Management degree. In addition, we are preparing an application for a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence, reflecting our commitment to developing programs that respond to the future of work, technology, and society.

Starting September 8, 2026, the Vancouver campus will be the home for:

  • Associate Degree programs
  • Bachelor’s degree programs, including the newly approved Bachelor of Business Administration in E-Business Management, to be offered in Fall 2027
  • University Transfer programs
  • Student services and activities
  • Faculty and staff supporting these academic programs
  • Science labs and technology-enabled learning spaces
  • Alexander Innovation Centre activities and applied learning opportunities
aic

The campus offers:

  • Spacious classrooms with updated AV technology and views of downtown Vancouver and the mountains
  • State-of-the-art chemistry and biology labs
  • Technology-enabled classrooms supporting new teaching and learning methods
  • Student spaces for studying, eating, relaxing, and connecting with classmates
  • Library study areas and academic support
  • Convenient access to SkyTrain and bus stations
  • Close connection to Alexander Academy and Dual Credit program pathways

The Burnaby campus will continue to support selected Extended Learning activities, including corporate training and Continuing Education programs, including certificate and diploma-style programming.

Important reminders:

  • Summer 2026 semester courses will take place at the Burnaby campus, with labs at the Vancouver campus.
  • Registration for the Fall 2026 semester opens on June 23, 2026, with staff available to support students at both campuses.
  • Fall 2026 classes begin on September 8, 2026, at the Vancouver campus.

We are excited about this next chapter for Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ. Bringing our community together at the Vancouver campus will create more connection, more opportunity, and an enriched academic experience for students.

Our staff are here to support you through this transition. If you have questions about courses, registration, services, or campus access, please contact our Front Desk for further information.

Warm regards,

Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ

Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ is more than just an academic institution, it is a community of staff, faculty, and students. As a community initiative, the Colour Your Campus project sought to encourage participation, creativity, and collaboration among the members of the community.

Over the course of three sessions in March, participants were encouraged to pick up a small canvas and, with the supplies provided, create a mini work of art. These paintings will eventually be placed together to form a collective mural at the AC campuses.

This project was created by Lindsay Simpson, one of our Sociology instructors. Inspired by her time at the University of New Brunswick and by the at Simon Fraser University (SFU), she wanted to bring something similar to Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ.

“The project goal is simple: offer a low-barrier way for the AC community to express their artistic side and have some fun. Students, staff, and faculty created their own small canvas painting, which will be used to create a collective mural. What is great about this project is that individual creativity can shine alongside the unity and togetherness that the final artwork symbolizes.”

As we welcome the new year, we also welcome new students to Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ! Winter 2026 New Student Orientation was our first event of the year where we helped new students familiarize themselves with the campus, student support services, and other fellow students new and old.

nso recap

Similar to previous New Student Orientations, the first stop for the students is the check-in desk where they receive their tote bags containing useful information. Once the students are settled in, various departments under Student Support Services, such as Academic Advising, introduce themselves and go over the main services they provide. The Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ Student Association (ACSA) also introduce themselves since they are one of the points of contact for students when they need help.

Following the presentations, the students are encouraged to introduce themselves to other new students as well as the event volunteers through a series of icebreaker activities and games. The event concludes with a guided tour of the campus and lunch.

A huge thank you to the Student Life team for hosting this event and all the volunteers that made this event possible!

To all the new students: welcome to Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ!

As a new student at Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ, the first major event you will likely experience is our New Student Orientation.

Hosted by the Student Life department, New Student Orientation is designed to introduce students to our campus, our services, and how to succeed as a student at Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ. This event also is a great opportunity to meet other students new to Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ!

new students pose for a photo

At Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ, our New Student Orientation begins with check-ins, then the new students watch presentations from our student support departments such as the Writing and Learning Centre (WLC) and Academic Advising in order to familiarize themselves with our services.

Following that, the students are taken on a tour around campus before returning to the main room for lunch and activities.

This year, we refreshed our theme and invited our students to embark on a new journey. Below is a statement from the Student Life team:

“We had a fun fair before because we thought it would be a nice way of them to get to know each other and then we changed it to an adventure because moving to Canada, it’s an adventure starting new, a new school, a new place, a new city, a new bus, new phone, new everything.

“This is a new beginning, this is a new path, this is a new adventure, so that’s why we changed it to ‘your adventure starts here’ and we wanted to connect it to what Å·ÃÀ¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ is: a pathway to university.”
