Academic Integrity and Plagiarism

The outlines six fundamental values that make up Academic Integrity: honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage. These values are important for all students, staff, and instructors at 欧美精品视频.

For students, having Academic Integrity means:

• Being honest with yourself, your instructors, and everyone else in the academic community.
• Building trust by demonstrating your own skills and knowledge when completing assignments.
• Understanding that college policies and rules will be applied fairly and equally to everyone, including students, staff, and instructors.
• Respecting everyone around you, even when their opinions are different from your own.
• Taking responsibility by being prepared and following college policies and rules throughout your studies.
• Having the courage to uphold and promote the values of Academic Integrity and seek appropriate sources of help when needed.

The opposite of Academic Integrity is Academic Dishonesty. For students, Academic Dishonesty comes in two main forms:

• Plagiarism is using someone else鈥檚 words or ideas without giving credit and pretending they are your own.
• Cheating is acting dishonestly or unfairly and breaking the rules for any assignment or exam.
